Les Hommes

Les Hommes, London’s hottest Hammond Organ/beats trio have been playing the underground scene for a few years and are now achieving mainstream press and radio recognition from those in the know.
The band consists of Rory on Hammond, Tarek on Vibes, Moog Organ on percussion and Vlad on drums. Their live set is a collection of their own compositions ranging from hard organ grinders to kicking bossas and spaced out beat numbers. Their gigs are testament to their style, no one can resist the urge to get up and shake their thang!
Given the range of influences they incorporate, their sound is hard to encapsulate. Terms like groovy and swinging spring to mind. Influences range from classic Blue Note Hammond Organ recordings from the likes of Big John Patton and Jimmy Smith to the cool Brazilian sounds of
Walter Wanderley and bossa nova. Add a touch of 60s Italian Soundtracks and some Latin licks, throw in some wild and crazy breaks and beats and you have a blueprint for the Les Hommes sound.

Reviews
Les Hommes From Outer Space
"Like Stereolab enjoying themselves, here the game hommes go bamboo with vibraphone, organ, congas and moog and end up in an op-art lounge with a sparkling hint of jazz."
Select Magazine, November 1999
"Les Hommes fulfil the latin jazz potential of drum & bass, a function is definitely being served. Ideal if you want to get the party started."
Steve Lowe, Q Magazine, January 2001
